In an annual report published by Education Week, Ohio schools have earned a C.
Education Week, a national newspaper focusing on K-12 education topics, has published a Quality Counts report for nearly twenty years. The report uses in-depth journalism and research to investigate important issues in educational policy. Every year, the report focuses on chance for success, K-12 achievement, and school finances. The report also focuses on a topic or topics heard often in the news surrounding educational issues. This year, accountability and trends in achievement and poverty-bases gaps were also measured.
With their findings, the Quality Counts report delivered a grade of C to Ohio. Ohio finished 23rd among the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The nation earned an overall grade of C as well.
