Every year, the Ohio eSchool Families and Friends Coalition awards one or two of our legislators with a Golden Apple Award. This award is given to a legislator who actively shows their support of school choice. This year, the Ohio eSchool Coalition is proud to announce that Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) is one of our 2014 Golden Apple Award recipients. Recently, he has shown his support of school choice by voting to allow students in community schools (ie: public charter schools including online schools) to participate in extracurricular activities in their traditional public school district. This affirmative vote opened so many doors for our students. His vote meant a great deal to us!
On Wednesday, October 29, the Golden Apple Award was presented to Sen. Beagle in Tipp City. The Loomis family of Eaton, school choice supporters and long-time e-schoolers, presented Sen. Beagle with the award. “Senator Beagle has done a lot to protect my ability to choose this type of education for my family. It was great to be a part of honoring him for his actions to support school choice in Ohio,” said Angie Loomis.
Congratulations, Senator Beagle, on this Golden Apple Award. Thank you for your consistent support of school choice in Ohio! Stay tuned to find out who will receive our second 2014 Golden Apple Award.
